Who I am

I am a Security Researcher, working for the SANS Institute on a number of exciting projects - no spoilers can be found here!

I have previously worked as a Counter Intelligence specialist for the Royal Air Force, and as an Information Security Manager for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Both roles were highly demanding, presenting challenges from across the Information Security spectrum.

My interests reside in both the deeply technical and business arenas, with a particular interest in helping organisations translate complex technical challenges into practical risk management advice.

One more thing

I am a big fan of computer games. When I'm not working on a cool research project, or being put to task by the boss (in this context, boss == wife), you'll usually find me playing a game or two.

My favourite generation of gameing is the 16-bit era, but I've been known to destroy opponents at modern titles too - Mario Kart 8, I'm looking at you!

I'm always looking for the next great opponent, or someone with a shared appreciation of all things retro. Feel free to drop me a line.
